Sometimes the details that take longest to perfect make the biggest difference.

We worked closely with our suppliers Rivet Innovate Ltd to source low carbon aluminium for these custom screens, which have now been installed at 137 Great North Road.

The perforated panels help reduce heat load and lower the building's cooling needs, while also creating a soft, misty look across the façade - and at night, a striking beacon of light on Great North Road.

Inside, the screens cast a beautiful dappled light effect, softening direct sunlight and creating a more comfortable, considered environment for tenants.

These are the moments we get excited to see come to life.

We love a good story, and 308 Great North Road has given us a beautiful one. This 100-year-old building was originally the "YY factory" - a facility for New Zealand bottled water. Digging through old project files, we discovered heritage photos of horse and cart deliveries, and original bottles through the museum. The "YY" branding represented 'wai' (water). We're restoring the building to its original appearance while adding a sustainable, thoughtful design at the back.

Their integrated approach to design helped us reimagine the building at 519 Great South Road, creating a warmer, more intuitive space. Simplified way-finding and thoughtful design improvements ensure Te Huinga works seamlessly for modern businesses.

The exterior screen maintains street views while casting a soft, dappled light that reflects a sense of place, all while reducing internal energy use.
