JUST SOLD in East Austin! 🏡
When people ask where I specialize, my answer is usually: Austin.
I certainly sell a lot of homes in West Austin, where I live and have worked for many years, but my clients take me all over the city. That variety is one of my favorite parts of the business, from luxury properties to character-filled cottages like this one.
For this purchase, I helped a couple relocating from out of state who wanted to establish roots in East Austin. One of the buyers had actually lived in the area about 10 years ago, making this a bit of a homecoming.
The search wasn’t without challenges. We pursued another great property but encountered a complicated seller situation, and we found another home that ultimately needed more work than made sense for my clients.
Then we found this 1940s home on nearly a quarter acre.
It offered a lot of what they were looking for: no HOA, original wood floors, plenty of character, and a detached rear structure with storage and additional living or office space.
The seller worked with us to address several items before closing, including installing new shingles and completing supportive framing work. With my buyers staying in an Airbnb, timing mattered, and we were able to get everything completed and close on schedule.
There was a great spirit at the closing table: excitement, anticipation and the feeling that they had found a place where they could settle in for the long term.
Congratulations to my buyers and welcome back to Austin!
