With summer heat and dry skies (and the Apex weather bubble apparently working overtime) the Town of Apex along with our neighbors in Cary and Morrisville are asking all residents to use water mindfully to help protect our shared water supply.
As a reminder, our year-round water conservation ordinance remains in effect. Odd addresses may water Tuesday, Thursday, & Saturday, and even addresses may water Wednesday, Friday, & Sunday. Avoid automated irrigation on Mondays. Hand-watering is allowed any day of the week!
Timing and sprinkler placement is also important. Water in the early morning or late evening to prevent evaporation, and ensure your sprinklers are watering your lawn, not the sidewalk or pavement.
Our region's water source, Jordan Lake, is currently below its normal level but well above thresholds which would trigger the next stage of the Town's Water Shortage Response Plan. We're closely monitoring local water supplies, weather conditions, and customer demand, and will keep you informed if conditions change.
