Passive radon mitigation systems are now required to be put in every new construction home in the state of Iowa.

Several builders around town have already installed passive systems for years. Many more haven't, so it'll be nice that new construction buyers can expect to see them everywhere now.

If radon levels are still high after testing in your new build, your builder may consider adding a fan to the system, turning it into a 'active' mitigation system.
