Allison Rankin - Compass, Denver

Allison Rankin - Compass, Denver “My clients know that I am most concerned about what is best for them. Her introduction to home ownership came with a home built in 1888.

I listen closely, ask a ton of questions and help facilitate discussions that get to the heart of their real estate needs. I leave no stone unturned…whether it is finding the perfect buyer or the perfect house, I go above and beyond to meet their needs.”

Having spent 20 years managing people and tens of millions of dollars, Allison made a mid-life career change to pursue her passion- real estate.

Apparently, that wasn’t old enough so her second home was built in 1880. Both of these homes were featured on the HGTV and DIY networks. After years of buying and selling homes and helping friends buy and sell houses, Allison decided it was time to commit to real estate full-time. Moving to the historic Five Points neighborhood in early 2002, Allison has focused her energy on the vibrant neighborhoods of Denver. She is energized by the city and makes it her business to know about development and revitalization happening all over Denver. She is a true foodie at heart and eats out more than she cares to admit. Don’t hesitate to ask her about her favorite restaurants. She has eaten at all of them! Also, a parent of 2 children, Allison can often be seen riding bikes with her family around the streets of Denver. She knows all the best hidden haunts and fun things to do with kids.

“I have found my bliss. I love people, I love Denver and I love houses. My job allows me to blend all of these things in a way that brings me and the people I work with, great joy!”

“I feel strongly about giving back to the community. I currently sit on two Boards for non-profits. Community Development work is a passion of mine and translates nicely to real estate as I often have intimate knowledge of a variety of projects and happenings in neighborhoods throughout Denver."

A Denver favorite: The Plimoth - the plimoth

Located at 28th & York, just along the edge of Whittier, The Plimoth is one of those restaurants that feels like a true neighborhood spot — intimate, welcoming and centered around really good food.

The menu changes with the seasons and what’s fresh, pairing classical French technique with a relaxed approach. Depending on the season, you might find everything from cracklin’ chicken and blackened catfish to New England clam chowdah’, along with seasonal starters, desserts and a thoughtfully curated wine list.

The Plimoth is owned and led by Chef Peter Ryan, who is also a Whittier resident. Originally from Plymouth, Massachusetts — the inspiration behind the restaurant’s name — Pete has spent decades in the culinary world, including years teaching and training chefs here in Denver.

I’ve always loved the neighborhood feel of The Plimoth. It’s warm and unpretentious, the ever-changing menu gives you a reason to keep coming back, and it’s exactly the kind of locally owned place that makes this part of Denver so special. Whether you’re already a regular or haven’t been yet, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

Colorado was made for exploring, but the best Colorado views are the ones you get to come home to.

From neighborhood farmers markets and local festivals to mountain adventures just a short drive away, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy our great state.

Tomorrow, Colorado celebrates 150 years of statehood. We earned the nickname "The Centennial State" after becoming the 38th state in 1876—100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

This weekend is the perfect time to get out and explore. Communities across the state are celebrating Colorado Day with free admission at participating state parks and museums, local festivals, concerts, and other family-friendly events.

Wherever the weekend takes you, we hope it reminds you what makes Colorado such an incredible place to call home.
