A Denver favorite: The Plimoth - the plimoth
Located at 28th & York, just along the edge of Whittier, The Plimoth is one of those restaurants that feels like a true neighborhood spot — intimate, welcoming and centered around really good food.
The menu changes with the seasons and what’s fresh, pairing classical French technique with a relaxed approach. Depending on the season, you might find everything from cracklin’ chicken and blackened catfish to New England clam chowdah’, along with seasonal starters, desserts and a thoughtfully curated wine list.
The Plimoth is owned and led by Chef Peter Ryan, who is also a Whittier resident. Originally from Plymouth, Massachusetts — the inspiration behind the restaurant’s name — Pete has spent decades in the culinary world, including years teaching and training chefs here in Denver.
I’ve always loved the neighborhood feel of The Plimoth. It’s warm and unpretentious, the ever-changing menu gives you a reason to keep coming back, and it’s exactly the kind of locally owned place that makes this part of Denver so special. Whether you’re already a regular or haven’t been yet, it’s absolutely worth a visit.
