🏡 This week's market numbers are turning heads — 413 new listings hit the Des Moines market, the most in a single week since April 2021. Inventory is climbing, price reductions are ticking up, and that's actually GOOD news for buyers. Sellers, don't worry — buyer activity is still strong, the key is pricing right from the start.

This week's Des Moines real estate market is sending some clear signals — and I think it's worth paying attention.

📊 Market Snapshot:
• 263 new residential listings since Friday — the lowest since end of February
• 3,332 homes currently listed in the metro, up 100 from last year
• 355 price drops in the past 7 days
• 57 homes went back on the market

After two weeks of surging price reductions, that number has dropped dramatically — but inventory continues to climb year over year. Geopolitical uncertainty is creating hesitation on both sides of the transaction, and it's showing up in the data.

One thing this week reminded me: the agent you choose matters more than most people realize. A strong negotiator during the inspection period can save a homeowner thousands — and that's a lesson that often only becomes clear years later when it's time to sell.
