🇬🇷 GREECE — The Cliffside Homes of Santorini
Imagine waking up to breathtaking views of the sparkling Aegean Sea!
Santorini is famous for its whitewashed homes, brilliant blue domes, and traditional cave houses built into volcanic hillsides.
Many of these homes feature curved ceilings, terraces, and interiors that remain naturally cooler during the hot Mediterranean summers.

Welcome to a village straight out of a fairytale!
Japan's historic Shirakawa-go village is famous for its remarkable gassho-zukuri farmhouses.
Their enormous, steeply pitched thatched roofs resemble hands folded in prayer and are designed to shed the region's heavy winter snow.
Some of these extraordinary homes have stood for more than 200 years!

🇳🇱 NETHERLANDS — The Charming Canal Houses of Amsterdam
Who needs a sprawling mansion when you can have a gorgeous home overlooking a picturesque canal?
Amsterdam's historic canal houses are famous for their narrow façades, tall windows, decorative gables, and impressive height.
Many were built on narrow parcels of land, and their distinctive roof-mounted beams and hooks helped lift furniture and merchandise to upper floors.

Our final stop takes us to the fascinating desert landscapes of Tunisia!
For generations, residents of Matmata have created remarkable underground courtyard homes by excavating large pits and carving rooms into the surrounding earth.
These traditional dwellings help protect residents from the intense desert heat.
And here's a Hollywood surprise: Some of Matmata's unusual architecture became famous through the Star Wars films!
