๐ผ THE NEXT CHAPTER
If I sold my homeโฆ where would I go?
Itโs one of the first questions I hear from longtime homeowners who have started thinking about making a change.
And itโs often followed very quickly by another:
Could I afford it?
For many homeowners, the answer isnโt as simple as comparing the value of their current home with the price of another one.
There may be equity youโve built over many years. There may be a mortgageโor perhaps no mortgage at all. Property taxes matter. Insurance matters. HOA dues may matter. And sometimes the home that costs less isnโt necessarily the home that creates the life you want.
Thatโs why I believe the first step isnโt putting a house on the market.
Itโs understanding your options.
What might your current home sell for?
What would you likely walk away with after selling expenses?
What kinds of homes could that amount purchase?
And perhaps most importantlyโฆ
What would you like your next chapter to look like?
Maybe itโs a smaller single-story home. Maybe itโs a 55+ community. Maybe itโs moving closer to family.
Or maybe, after looking at everything, you decide youโre happiest exactly where you are.
Thatโs a perfectly good answer, too.
My goal with The Next Chapter isnโt to convince anyone to move. Itโs to help longtime homeowners understand their choicesโbefore they ever have to make one. ๐ผ
