๐ŸŒผ THE NEXT CHAPTER

If I sold my homeโ€ฆ where would I go?

Itโ€™s one of the first questions I hear from longtime homeowners who have started thinking about making a change.

And itโ€™s often followed very quickly by another:

Could I afford it?

For many homeowners, the answer isnโ€™t as simple as comparing the value of their current home with the price of another one.

There may be equity youโ€™ve built over many years. There may be a mortgageโ€”or perhaps no mortgage at all. Property taxes matter. Insurance matters. HOA dues may matter. And sometimes the home that costs less isnโ€™t necessarily the home that creates the life you want.

Thatโ€™s why I believe the first step isnโ€™t putting a house on the market.

Itโ€™s understanding your options.

What might your current home sell for?
What would you likely walk away with after selling expenses?
What kinds of homes could that amount purchase?

And perhaps most importantlyโ€ฆ

What would you like your next chapter to look like?

Maybe itโ€™s a smaller single-story home. Maybe itโ€™s a 55+ community. Maybe itโ€™s moving closer to family.

Or maybe, after looking at everything, you decide youโ€™re happiest exactly where you are.

Thatโ€™s a perfectly good answer, too.

My goal with The Next Chapter isnโ€™t to convince anyone to move. Itโ€™s to help longtime homeowners understand their choicesโ€”before they ever have to make one. ๐ŸŒผ

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด Romania: Traditional Danube Delta Homes

In Romania's Danube Delta, traditional homes often feature whitewashed walls, beautiful blue trim and roofs made from locally harvested reedsโ€”building traditions perfectly suited to the surrounding wetlands.

"Pretty blue house, enormous lawn...we'll take it!" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿก

๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ณ Senegal: Earth-Built Architecture

For generations, builders in Senegal and other parts of West Africa have used earth and locally available materials to create homes well suited to hot climates. Today, architects continue finding beautiful new ways to use these traditional building techniques.

๐Ÿซ Gracie & Petunia Say:
"Does the mud come with a spa package?" ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿซ

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช Peru: Floating Homes of Lake Titicaca

"WAIT. The house AND the yard are floating? Nobody make any sudden moves!" ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Czechia: Storybook Timber Cottages

๐Ÿก Coming Thursday on The Next Chapterโ€ฆ

โ€œIf I sold my home, where would I go โ€” and could I afford it?โ€

Itโ€™s one of the biggest questions longtime homeowners have when they begin thinking about what their next chapter might look like.

This Thursday, weโ€™ll talk about some of the options โ€” with no pressure, no assumptions, and no suggestion that moving is necessarily the right answer.

Sometimes knowing your options is all you need. โค๏ธ

See you Thursday!
