Today I had the opportunity to share something I love—floral design—with a wonderful group of young people.

We talked about choosing a focal flower, adding supporting blooms and greenery, working with height and balance, and most importantly, trusting their own creative instincts.

And they did exactly that.

Some carefully followed each step. Some immediately began experimenting. Some created tall arrangements, others kept theirs compact and full. No two were quite alike—and that may have been my favorite part.

The flowers became part of the beautiful tea-party centerpieces throughout the room, tucked into teapots, cups, pitchers, and all sorts of unexpected vessels. 🌹🫖

There is something special about watching someone realize, “I made this.” creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. Sometimes you simply give someone the materials, teach them a few fundamentals, and make room for their imagination.

I’m grateful I got to be part of their day—and very proud of what these young designers created. 💐

🌸 From Empty Teapots to Something Beautiful 🫖

It starts with an empty teapot…

A little mismatched. A little vintage. Some elegant, some whimsical, and each one waiting for a new purpose.

Then come the flowers. 🌹🌼🌿

Stem by stem, color by color, these once-empty teapots are being beautifully dressed in flowers for the upcoming St. Bernadette’s Pro-Life Tea Party Fundraiser.

There is something especially meaningful about creating these arrangements for this event. A simple vessel can hold something beautiful. Something overlooked can be given new purpose. And when many small gifts are brought together—flowers, teapots, time, generosity and helping hands—they can become something that serves a much greater cause.
