In March 2026, renting a starter home had a lower monthly cost than buying one in the 50 largest U.S. metros studied.

But cheaper today doesnā€™t automatically mean better for tomorrow.

Renting and owning accomplish two very different things. Your monthly payment mattersā€”but so do equity, long-term plans, interest rates, available cash, maintenance costs and how long you plan to stay.

Grateful for a great morning at the Women's Council of REALTORS "Cover the Community" luncheon. We covered the latest changes to appraisals straight from local appraiser Chad Anderson, and collected gently used coats for Mercy Life of AL along the way.

So glad to have sponsored lunch for a room full of people who show up for this community, again and again.
