🇺🇸 25 Years Later — We Still Remember.
Twenty-five years ago today, September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed us.
Today, we honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93 — and the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, emergency workers, and ordinary Americans who ran toward danger to save others, many making the ultimate sacrifice.
We also recognize the thousands of first responders and others who have suffered or lost their lives in the years since from illnesses connected to their work at Ground Zero.
The passengers and crew of United Flight 93 showed extraordinary courage by fighting back against the hijackers, knowing what it might cost them and helping prevent an even greater tragedy.
In the days that followed, amid unimaginable grief, Americans came together. We helped strangers. We flew our flags. We stood side by side and were reminded that there is far more that unites us than divides us.
A quarter of a century has passed, but their lives, courage, and sacrifice must never fade from our history. May we continue telling their stories so future generations understand not only what happened that September morning, but also the extraordinary bravery, compassion, sacrifice, and unity that followed.
Honor. Remember. Never Forget. 🇺🇸
