Don't wait for a storm to be on the horizon to realize something is missing. Now is the time to do a "dry run" of your shutter system to ensure everything functions exactly when you need it to.

The Maintenance Checklist:
🔆Roll-Downs: Test the motors and manual overrides. Clear any debris from the tracks to ensure a smooth transition.

🔆 Accordion/Sliders: Lubricate the tracks and slide them fully closed to check for alignment or "sticking" points.

🔆 Manual Panels: Do a quick inventory! Ensure you have all the necessary track bolts, washers, and wing nuts. If you’re missing even one, now is the time to head to the hardware store—not when the aisles are packed.

Pro-Tip: Check for oxidation on metal tracks and clear out any wasp nests or dirt that may have accumulated over the season.

🌀Hurricane Season is Approaching: Is Your Landscape Ready? 🌀
In Southwest Florida, we know it’s not a matter of if, but when. As hurricane season draws near, the best defense is a proactive offense—starting with your yard.
Overhanging branches and overgrown trees can quickly become hazards in high winds. Taking care of your landscaping now ensures your home—and your neighbors’ homes—stay protected.
The Pre-Season Green Checklist:
🌳 Trim the Canopy: Focus on thinning out dense trees​. This allows the wind to blow through the branches rather than pushing the entire tree over.
🌿🥥 Remove "Missiles": Cut back any dead wood​, weak limbs​ and remove any coconuts. In a storm, these become dangerous projectiles.
🌴Check Your Palms: Clean up dead fronds, but avoid "lion-tailing" (over-pruning the top). Palms are designed to withstand wind best when they have a full head of green fronds.
⚠Clear the Perimeter: Ensure branches aren't touching your roof or power lines.​ ⚠🚫🤚🏽 (Branches touching power line call the electric company to report, don't attempt yourself to trim.) 🛑

Pro-Tip: Don’t wait until a storm is named to schedule a trimmer! Professional crews book up weeks in advance once the season starts. —so get those piles to the curb now.

Full time Residents must provide the following to obtain a parking permit:
Original current Collier County Vehicle Registration (copies not accepted)
Original current Collier County Drivers License (copies not accepted)
Both documents must display the same name and Collier County residence address
Part time Resident Property Owners must provide the following to obtain a parking sticker:
Valid Driver’s License (regardless of state)
Valid vehicle registration/rental car agreement
Current Collier County proper tax bill or Warranty Deed, within 3 months of closing
