Today I'm announcing the new position I accepted in October 2021. I've joined Flotilla Real Estate Partners as the Director of Technology.

I'm happy to be working again with my Team Leader from my previous position, Jennifer Arsenault, who launched Flotilla as a real estate brokerage & support services startup about 1 year ago.

Jennifer and I have worked together for nearly 10 years now. Our mutual respect for each other's leadership & skills has brought us together again—this time to use our real estate experience not only to support our own REALTORS®, but to support any local Oklahoma City brokerage who needs our combined experience to make their business run more efficiently & effectively.

I'm also extremely happy to work again with some great real estate professionals & friends who also joined Flotilla, and whom I've also worked with for 9 years at my previous company.

I'm grateful for my previous 9 years of real estate technology experience that I can take to local brokerages to help them implement technology & systems to make them more competitive.

Working for a small startup is a daring move for me, but it's exciting to build something from the ground up, to have the freedom to make your own business decisions, and finally have true ownership in a company. Wish me luck!

After 24 long years, Adobe Flash is finally going away on 12/31/20. Let's take a second to remember Gabocorp—possibly the first website to use Flash all the way back in 1997! I remember my friends & I playing with the site in amazement on the high school computers that chugged along trying to render the animations. Looking back, we should all be glad that this wasn't the future of web design: long, ridiculous animations; techno music; gradient pseudo-lens flares...then the security issues came. Thank you for your service, Flash, but now it's time to go.

I've been dealing with agents' domain name issues ALL. DAY. I can't stress how much I recommend Hover as your domain name registrar. I spent pretty much all day yesterday updating my work passwords for the new year. Make a resolution that 2018 is the year to get more secure, and use better passwords! Don't be a Spaceball!

I see a lot of people get themselves into security trouble because of scare tactics. Here's a voicemail I received that claims the "local cops" are coming to get me unless I call the number. Scary. But if you Google the phone number, you see that many other people have reported the same number, and it's a scam. Before you ever do anything, Google it or ask someone knowledgeable about scams & security. Don't get scared! Get smart!

Are you still running Windows 7 or 8, and think you missed out on the FREE Windows 10 upgrade? There's actually still time to upgrade to Windows 10 for free (and you should). If you use assistive technologies (and you do), Microsoft still allows you to upgrade to Windows 10 for free until December 31st of this year. Assistive technologies can include the Magnifier tool or even keyboard shortcuts (like CTRL+C to copy). Windows 10 is Microsoft's best operating system to date. Take advantage of the upgrade before it's permanently too late!

Windows 10 or Windows 10,000?

Microsoft has been forcing Windows 10 upgrades for months now, an aggressive tactic that’s rubbed people the wrong way. The Seattle Times reports one woman’s computer was messed up by the update, prompting her to sue Microsoft. Not only did she win, she got $10,000.
