OSHA 30 is NOT enough.

You are legally required by Federal Law to be:
✅ EPA RRP Certified
Under the EPA Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) Rule, contractors disturbing:
More than 6 sq ft of interior (more that 2 sq/ft in HUD properties) surfaces
More than 20 sq ft exterior surfaces
Including childcare facilities built before 1978
Must be RRP certified.

Failure to comply can result in:

🚨 Kids Under 6 Are Most at Risk for Lead Poisoning 🚨
Did you know?

Children under age 6 are the most vulnerable to lead poisoning. Their small bodies absorb lead more easily, and even low levels can cause serious and lifelong health problems.

🧠 Lead exposure can affect:
Brain development
Learning and behavior
Speech and hearing
Growth and physical health

👶 Why are young kids more at risk?
They crawl, play on the floor, and put hands/toys in their mouths — all ways lead dust or paint chips can enter their bodies.

Their brains and nervous systems are still developing, making them more sensitive to toxic exposure.

🏡 Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint — one of the biggest sources of exposure.

This week, let’s raise awareness and take action to prevent lead poisoning. It’s a serious issue, but together, we can protect our loved ones, especially children, from the dangers of lead exposure.

🔑 Key Tips to Keep Your Family Safe:

Check Your Home for Lead 🏚️: If your house was built before 1978, get it tested for lead paint and dust. Renovation can release lead dust, so make sure to use certified professionals.

🚨Landlords and Daycare owners are required to get their propertied tested for lead to obtain a rental license if the property was built before 1978.

Wash Hands & Toys 🧼: Lead can be found in dust and soil. Make sure kids wash their hands before eating and after playing outside.

Healthy Diet = Healthy Body 🍎: A balanced diet rich in iron, calcium, and vitamin C can help reduce the absorption of lead.

Regular Check-Ups 👩‍⚕️: Have your child tested for lead poisoning if they’re at risk. Early detection is key!
Use Lead-Free Products 🛍️: Check for lead-free paints, toys, and products to ensure safety.

It’s the EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting Certification that equips you with essential skills to work safely and comply with regulations.

The EPA requires contractors to be RRP (Renovation, Repair, and Painting) certified to protect public health by minimizing exposure to lead-based paint hazards. Here’s why:

✅Lead Exposure Risks: Lead-based paint, common in homes built before 1978, poses serious health risks, especially to children and pregnant women. It can cause developmental issues, learning disabilities, and other severe health problems.

✅Safe Work Practices: Renovation activities like sanding, cutting, or demolition can release dangerous lead dust or chips into the air. RRP certification ensures contractors know how to use proper containment and cleanup techniques to prevent contamination.

✅Compliance with Federal Law: The EPA’s Lead Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule (RRP Rule) requires certification to ensure contractors follow safe practices and meet legal obligations when working in homes, schools, or childcare facilities built before 1978.
