Mainebiz recently reported that Maine SBDC is preparing for a major leadership transition.
State Director Mark Delisle plans to retire on February 1, 2027, after nearly two decades of service to Maine’s small business community. Since becoming State Director in 2008, Delisle has helped guide Maine SBDC through significant growth, expanding its statewide network and partnerships.
During his tenure, Maine SBDC has assisted nearly 25,000 individuals, helped launch almost 2,500 new businesses, supported the creation or retention of more than 14,000 jobs, and helped clients access nearly $710 million in funding.
The University of Southern Maine and Maine SBDC have launched a nationwide search for the organization’s next State Director, with interviews expected this fall.
It’s a notable moment for one of Maine’s key small business resources — and a reminder of how important strong advising, funding access, and statewide partnerships are to Maine’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
