A major milestone for affordable housing in San Jose!

We’re proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of RISE, a new 195-home affordable housing community at the Berryessa/North San José BART Station, made possible through an extraordinary partnership between Affirmed Housing, VTA, and a coalition of public, private and community partners.

This project is more than a new housing development—it’s a commitment to opportunity. RISE will provide affordable homes for low-income households, including 49 permanent supportive housing apartments for individuals transitioning out of homelessness, while connecting residents to jobs, services, education and transit in one of the nation’s most challenging housing markets.

Designed with sustainability and resident well-being at its core, RISE will feature community amenities, supportive services, educational programming, and direct access to BART—creating a vibrant, connected community where residents can thrive.

Together, we’re not just building housing—we’re building stronger communities, expanding opportunity, and creating a brighter future for San José.

The new affordable rental homes at SkyLINE in Rancho Bernardo enable families like Kimberly and her children to continue to afford to live in the San Diego communities they have known for years. SDHC supported Affirmed Housing’s development of SkyLINE by awarding 30 rental housing vouchers and authorizing multifamily housing revenue bonds toward the financing. We’ve cut the ribbon on our newest transit-oriented community at the Rancho Bernardo Transit Station.

✅ Our new Affirmed Housing corporate headquarters.
