Fall arrives a little differently on 30A. The palms may not change color, but the entire rhythm of the coast begins to shift.

The mornings become cooler, the Gulf takes on a deeper shade of blue and the sunsets seem to linger a little longer. Beach walks replace crowded afternoons, bicycles fill the paths again, and outdoor tables become the perfect place to spend an evening. There is a calmness here in the fall that reminds you why so many people fall in love with this stretch of coastline.

October also brings some of our most anticipated events, including Watersound Origins Porchfest, Harvest W**e & Food Festival in WaterColor, the SOWAL Jazz Festival, the Garden & Gun gathering in Alys Beach, and beloved Halloween traditions in Alys Beach, Seaside and Rosemary Beach.

Summer may receive most of the attention, but those of us who know 30A understand that fall is when this place truly settles into itself.

I sat in reflection for 50 minutes this morning and counted each of the 2,977 seconds that made up that moment—one for every life lost on September 11, 2001.

Nearly 50 minutes is a long time to be still. It should be. Every second represented a name, a family, a story, and a future taken too soon.

Today, we honor those we lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the survivors who carried its weight, and the families whose lives were forever divided into before and after.

At SERHANT., we spend our days looking toward the future—but moving forward must never mean forgetting the past.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🚧Infrastructure Update🚧

A meaningful project is taking shape in Santa Rosa Beach. The final phase of the Kellogg Park Nature Center will add a new 1,800-square-foot educational and community space, improved ADA access, new picnic pavilions, parking, benches, and educational signage throughout the property.

Thanks to the Kellogg family’s generous donation of nearly 10 acres, this project will preserve another special piece of South Walton while making it easier for families and visitors to experience it.
