I'm still very new to the game of soccer, but I've really enjoyed learning as much as I can over the last four years. My knowledge and understanding of the game have grown tremendously.
In the beginning, I knew very little. I was mostly able to connect the dots through my extensive basketball background. There are a lot of similarities between the two sports, but there are some major differences as well.
I've always been a curious person, and with that comes a genuine love of learning new things. But I also have a very special 10-year-old soccer player of my own who has kicked me into rocket booster mode to better support, coach, and help her whenever needed.
By leaning heavily on resources, friends, and mentors around me, combined with my love and understanding of team sports, I've truly grown to love the game. I'm still growing, but I'm much more knowledgeable now about the skills, tactics, and all the little things that make soccer great.
Basketball will always have my heart, but I've caught myself referring to basketball shoes as "boots" more than once lately.
As we get excited for today's match, I couldn't help but think about how much this journey parallels my career in real estate.
Residential buying and selling is my passion, my basketball. But learning and growing on the commercial side over the last three or four years has been nothing short of amazing. Just like soccer, I couldn't do it without the support of the people around me.
There are tons of similarities between residential and commercial real estate, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to relationships and taking care of people.
Whether it's sports or real estate, nothing good happens without hard work, passion, teamwork, and practice.
Now let's go get a win.
