Another beautiful Cape Lookout Canted is officially home.

Congratulations to Don and Elizabeth Woolverton, who recently closed on their new Hagood home! The Cape Lookout Canted has a way of feeling both distinctive and immediately comfortable — with the kind of thoughtful design that makes everyday living just a little better.

But today, it’s not about the floor plan. It’s about Don and Elizabeth getting the keys, opening the door and knowing this one is theirs.

We’re grateful they chose Hagood Homes to build it and proud to welcome them to the Hagood family.

Congratulations, Don and Elizabeth. Enjoy every inch of it!

It’s easy to fall in love with a floor plan.

The kitchen looks perfect. The primary suite checks every box. There’s plenty of room for guests, a home office and that outdoor living space you’ve been imagining.

But there’s a question worth asking before any of those:

Does this home fit the way you actually live?

The right floor plan isn’t simply about bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage. It should reflect how you spend your days, where everyone gathers, what frustrates you about your current home—and how your life might change in the years ahead.

Before you fall in love with a floor plan, we’ve put together seven questions worth asking.

Big sky. Wide-open spaces. And a very different side of Hagood Homes.

Our first completed home in Kingbird feels right at home in this distinctive Rocky Point community, where 10-acre homesites and a Yellowstone-inspired aesthetic create room to think differently about what home can look like.

For these homeowners, that meant stone, stained wood, rich finishes, dramatic architectural details and spaces designed around the way their family lives.

The result? A home that may surprise people who know us best for our coastal architecture — and one that says a lot about what building with Hagood Homes is really about.

A Hagood Home doesn’t have to look a certain way to be a Hagood Home.

Every beautiful home begins with trust.

Trust that the people you choose will listen. That they’ll care about the details you care about. And that somewhere along the way, all those conversations, decisions, and ideas will become the place you pictured in your mind.

Rich & Judy, thank you for placing that trust in Hagood Homes.

Your Cape Lookout turned out beautifully, and we’re incredibly proud to have our name attached to it. But even more than that, we’re grateful that you chose our team to be part of something so important to you.

We hope you feel that same sense of pride every time you come home.

Rich & Judy, thank you for letting us build this one for you. It was truly our privilege.

Today, we celebrate the people behind every Hagood home.

From the first conversation and the first set of plans to the countless details that bring a home to life, it takes an incredible team to make what we do possible.

Our designers, sales team, project managers, construction professionals, trade partners and everyone working behind the scenes bring skill, care and dedication to their work every day. The beautiful homes we have the privilege of building are a reflection of all of them.

This Labor Day, we’re especially grateful for the Hagood Homes team and the many talented people who work alongside us. Thank you for the pride you take in your work, the care you show our homeowners and everything you do to help turn their vision of home into reality.

Happy Labor Day from Hagood Homes.

There’s a special kind of pride that comes with walking into a home and knowing the answer to “Why did you do it that way?”

Because we wanted it that way.

That’s the beauty of a custom home.

Bryan & Rachael, every decision along the way helped shape a home that reflects your tastes, your priorities, and the way you want to live. The result is something no one else has: a home created specifically for you.

For Hagood Homes, being invited into that process is something we never take for granted. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us, trusting our team to bring them to life, and allowing us to build a home that is truly your own.

Bryan & Rachael, may you always love the answer to that question: “Because we wanted it that way.”

Some of the most important features in your home are the ones you may never see.

Today’s energy-efficient homes are built with tighter building envelopes to help keep conditioned air inside and outdoor air outside. But a tighter home also makes intentional ventilation more important.

That’s where the AprilAire 8145 Fresh Air Ventilator comes in.

The system brings a controlled amount of fresh outdoor air into the home, filters it and helps dilute odors, airborne particles and other indoor contaminants—all while intelligently managing ventilation based on conditions inside and outside the home.

It’s another example of how the systems behind the walls can make just as much of a difference as the finishes you see.

Home has a way of changing your pace.

You linger a little longer over coffee. You find yourself watching the light come through the windows. The days don't necessarily get shorter—but somehow they feel a little less hurried.

Michael & Kathy, we hope your Harbor Side Canted becomes that kind of place.

A place that welcomes family, celebrates life's milestones, offers comfort after busy days, and reminds you that some of the best moments are the ones that happen without a plan.

Thank you for choosing Hagood Homes to build a home that's ready for the life you'll create inside it. May it be filled with warmth, laughter, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing you've found exactly where you're meant to be.

Some of the best things in life don't happen all at once.

They unfold over time.

A favorite chair finds its place. The kitchen becomes the heart of every gathering. A front porch turns into the perfect spot to end the day. Before you know it, a house has become part of your family's story.

Doug & Linda, your Pamlico Sound Alt is ready for all of those moments—and the countless others you can't possibly plan for.

Thank you for choosing Hagood Homes to build a place where life can simply happen. We hope this home welcomes every season, every celebration, and every quiet moment with the same warmth it was built to provide.

Here's to a home that grows even more meaningful with each passing year.
