A viewer I met recently arrived with an iPad and a checklist downloaded from the Which? website, something that hasn’t happened to me before. But it made me think more people should do the same!

As she worked her way through the property, nothing escaped inspection, taps tested, windows checked, boiler noted.

I was impressed. How organised! The property isn’t perfect (they rarely are!) but she made note of everything, so if and when her surveyor or solicitor raises it, she doesn’t get any surprises.

I’ll never forget my first instruction after leaving employed agency.

“They told us you’d left the company so we’ve contacted you directly.”

I couldn’t believe my luck! What perfect timing. I’d just gone self employed 💥

That stuck with me.

They didn’t choose the logo. Nor the office, not the brand. They chose the relationship they had with me.

Since then, I’ve built a business around being personal, flexible, and available in a way I never could before. It just takes one to get the snowball going…
