I was born and raised in Burlington, Iowa, and have lived in central Iowa for the past 15 years. I am a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa State University with bachelors degrees in Social Work and Family Services, as well as a Masters and PhD in Human Development and Family Studies. I spent 8 years teaching adjunct at Iowa State while also establishing a career in the field of Social Work, working primarily in supporting individuals dealing with grief and loss, as well as in hospice care. I made the transition to real estate because I am passionate about helping others and wanted to continue to journey with people through their major life transitions. Buying or selling a home is certainly one of those times and it is my mission to provide personalized care and extraordinary customer service so that clients feel supported every step of the way. I am ambitious and determined in everything that I pursue and continuously strive to exceed client expectations. I value genuine connection and consider my empathetic and caring nature my specialty in working with people. Clients can trust me to be an excellent listener who will be attentive to their needs, however big or small. Outside of real estate, I enjoy spending time with my two amazing kids, family, and friends. You can also find me volunteering or advocating for housing issues for those impacted by domestic violence, or various other causes close to my heart. I also enjoy cooking (especially for others), home decorating, being outdoors, writing and singing.

I seriously have the BEST clients! Knowing them, I know that this review is just as honest as it is facetious and it truly made me laugh out loud. 😅 I have never been referred to as a "warthog" of anything, but I had a little fun and asked AI to tell me more about what this actually means in the context of my clients' testimonial. Apparently, I am an "unstoppable force who gets the job done" - and in the context of this particular transaction, that could not be more accurate! 🤩

It's been a minute since I've shared a peek behind the scenes, but today felt like a good "day in the life" type of day to share about...

👩🏻‍🏫 Started the day off as a panelist for an in-house training, alongside two other colleagues!
👭 Enjoyed lunch with my lender, my financial advisor, and my insurance agent - I love that we're all friends. 🥰 Margaritas were had by 50% of the group! 🍹
📲 As an agent, I'm always on the phone. Today, I made some follow up phone calls to agents regarding showings on my listings, kept key players informed on transaction related information, requested an invoice from a contractor, took a call from a potential buyer interested in working with me on her next purchase.
🏈 Popped by my stylist's salon to drop off her football schedule magnet because I forgot to bring it to my appointment yesterday.
🏘 Checked out the new listings, which I do daily. One caught my eye so I passed it on to a client of mine and we are scheduled to take a look tomorrow.

On the panel this morning, I was asked what I love most about real estate? The answer I shared was that I love helping people through life transitions. And that is 100% true!

But days like today also remind me that I love the variety in my days, being my own boss, and knowing that if I stay humble, work hard, and be kind...everything always seems to fall in to place. ❤️
