A home’s energy system is worth asking about, especially when touring new construction in the south metro. 🌿

In April 2025, Dandelion Energy and Lennar announced a two-year deployment covering 1,500+ new homes across 14 Colorado communities. It launched at Ken-Caryl Ranch in Littleton, with individual ground-loop systems using 200–500 ft boreholes.

At Ruby Hill, Xcel Energy’s utility thermal energy network pilot includes 25 homes and two commercial buildings. Participating homes have heat pumps with no upfront cost; test drilling is underway as of October 2026.

For buyers, ask how a system works, what it serves, and what documentation is available. For owners considering resale, system records, warranties, and operating history can help explain a home’s efficiency features to future buyers, without assuming a particular value impact.

🏗️ 1,250 new jobs in Douglas and Jefferson counties, and a 190,000-square-foot Lockheed Martin expansion in Highlands Ranch, mark a significant new demand signal for South Metro Denver.

Announced October 8, the expansion is expected to add up to 1,250 jobs over four years. The Highlands Ranch office expansion accounts for roughly 450 roles, including cybersecurity and software engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.

Our market read: incoming aerospace and engineering talent may bring buyer demand to Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, Castle Pines, and Centennial. Potentially before broader price data reflects the shift.
