This weekends adventure, with the wifey, included mountain roads, steep rocky trails, beautiful scenery, and a little bit of sugar…🍭
We started our day by heading up to Clarksburg for a quick buisness negotiation followed by a walk of the town.
In the town we found what had just opened a month ago, The Candy Vault. This unique and fun experience used to actually be a bank, hence “The Vault.”
There they had choices, that triggered our inner 5 year old minds, of filling gold bars of whatever candy you could imagine, fudge to die for and delicious fluffy milkshakes.🧋
From there, energized and all, we hit the road again with conversations that probably wouldn’t make since to most, but when you’re 40 and full of sugar with no kids, you tend to get a little out of responsible character 🤪 and just say whatever pops up.
Our continued trip landed us at one of WV’s most beautiful views…Cooper’s Rock.
Being a first for both of us, we both indulged in what looked like endless amounts of scenery.
After taking in all the beauty, we moved on to see what Cooper’s Rock had to offer on trails. We hopped on the “Rattlesnake Trail” 🐍👣 and let me tell you, this is one you better have high ankle shoes or a set of hiking boats because there was no shortage of ups, downs, and rocky 🪨terrain that could leave you wailing like a grown man smacking his thumb with a hammer.
After a half mile down the treacherous Rattlesnake, we both could feel The Candy Vaults sugar buzz slowly slip away and decided with a 3 hours road trip back home, it was time to head back.
Life is short and days like these are the ones that we never forget and cherish the most. Everything else is temporary and while I’m still able, I plan on taking many long trips exploring God’s creation and spending them with those I love the most….
So I leave you with this…don’t get so caught up in the things that keep you busy and wouldn’t beg for your return if you left today.
You only get one shot to make the most of your time, so spend it wisely and spend it with the intention of creating memories for years to come…❤️
