One of the most important things to do when selling your home is to price it CORRECTLY right at the start.

For many sellers, it’s very tempting to price their homes well above a fair market price “just to see if someone will make an offer.”

It seems harmless enough, but you run the risk of having your house sit on the market unsold for longer.

If a house sits for too long, then new prospective buyers start to wonder why it’s gone unsold. Even if you eventually drop the price to a fair market value.

After enough time, sellers often end up having to lower their prices BELOW fair market value. Plus deal with the stress of waiting for a sale to finally go through.

I LOVE my desert home and the career I’ve built here. However, everyone needs an escape from time to time (especially during the summer heat).

Here are some of my favorite places that I’ve gone to in recent years and those I visit time and time again:

1. Selva di Val Gardena, Italy - The newest spot to steal my heart. Selva boasts magnificent scenery, incredible food and w**e, and some of the greatest trails I’ve ever hiked. Plus, I got to soar like a bird paragliding over the Val Gardena valley!

2. Durango, CO - My true Home Away From Home! Durango is where I went to college, and it’s where I met my husband. We have a second home there for summer fun and getting our mountain fix!

3. Sedona, AZ - One of my “Happy Places,” Sedona is one-of-a-kind. Breathtaking scenery, feel-good vortexes, and stunning red-rock landscapes that are a joy to hike and run through.

4. Germany - Throughout his life, my dad wished to visit his ancestral home in Germany. As a gift for his 80th birthday, my sister and I got to take him on a river cruise through Germany. I’ll never forget how happy he was getting to see his homeland with us.

5. Longmont, CO - Finally, my childhood home of Longmont. My family has deep roots on the Colorado front range, just north of Denver. I visit nearly every year to reconnect with family and take in the wonderful mountain views that I’ve loved since I was a little girl. Sweet home Colorado!

Each of these places are special to me, but I do always find myself yearning to come home to the desert.
