The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) has awarded more than a quarter-million dollars to an organization that is working to preserve housing units in Greene County that serve individuals with developmental disabilities.

🎉 BIG NEWS for Eastern Eight! 🏡💗

Today, we were honored to celebrate a $276,210 Tennessee Housing Trust Fund award from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA)! 🎉

This funding will support the rehabilitation and preservation of the Comcare properties in Greene County, helping us continue to provide safe, quality, affordable housing for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The project will provide much-needed improvements that will benefit 36 individuals, including:
🏠 Roof replacements
❄️ HVAC repairs
✨ Flooring upgrades
🅿️ Parking area resurfacing
♿ Improvements to safety and accessibility

Most importantly, this investment helps ensure that 36 individuals can continue to have a safe, affordable place to call home for years to come. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to THDA for investing in Eastern Eight and in the preservation of affordable housing in our communities!

🏠 Johnson City Homeowners — Home Repair Assistance is Available!

Eastern Eight CDC is currently accepting applications for the City of Johnson City’s Emergency Home Repair Program, funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. This program provides assistance to eligible, low-income homeowners within Johnson City limits who need repairs to improve the safety and condition of their homes.

Eligible repairs may include:
🔨 Roofing
⚡ Electrical
❄️ Heating & Air Conditioning
🚿 Plumbing
♿ Accessibility Modifications
🏡 Other necessary health and safety repairs

🏡✂️ What an incredible day!

Thank you to everyone who joined Eastern Eight CDC yesterday as we celebrated the completion of four new affordable rental homes with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

These homes represent more than new construction. They represent opportunity, stability, and our continued commitment to expanding access to quality, affordable housing in our community.
