Kansas City is about to get TWO new rooftop bars… and honestly, we’ve been overdue for more rooftop spots for a while. 🍸🌆
Both projects are coming from local developer Zach Molzer and partners.
First up is Soca, opening August 1 on top of the Aladdin redevelopment.
This one’s tiny, around 30 seats, with more of an intimate cocktail bar feel. From everything I’ve heard, this will probably become one of the toughest reservations to land in KC, especially with views overlooking downtown, the Crossroads, and the Kauffman Center.
Then there’s Bar Phoebe opening in June in the East Crossroads atop the Holtman Building.
Completely different vibe. Bigger space, 200+ capacity, full menu, and more of a social rooftop setup with skyline views in every direction.
But the concept is what really stands out.
The bar is named after Phoebe Jane Ess, an early Kansas City women’s rights activist who was openly anti-prohibition. So the whole place is built as a modern tribute to that history, a little rebellious and very KC.
And honestly… between these two spots, it feels like Kansas City’s finally starting to catch up on the rooftop bar scene.
Which one are you most excited for? 👀
