Seeing the US Navy Marching Band perform in the Rose Parade brought me to my feet. This is their 100th year as a band and their very first appearance in this parade.

I have seen them perform live a few times in Washington DC, once in a 4th of July parade and then a few times on the west steps of the Capital Building.

Here's a handy and insightful list of things to do to prepare your home for Winter and the Holidays. I'm a pretty good caretaker of my own home but got reminded here of a few things that I too need to do. I only wish that one of those was servicing my swimming pool (Ha-Ha).
