What is an easement? That is a great question and here is the answer 👇

You bought the home. You own the property. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re the only one with rights to use part of it.

An easement can give another person or organization the legal right to use a portion of your property for a specific purpose. That could include a shared driveway, access to a neighboring property or space for utility lines.

Before a real estate transaction closes, title professionals search public records for recorded easements and other matters that could affect a buyer’s property rights.
