Jonathan oversees Avdoo’s equity and debt investments and leads the sourcing, structuring, and ex*****on of every new acquisition. His judgment shapes the firm’s pipeline, identifying sites with lasting potential before anyone else sees it, built on relationships he’s cultivated throughout the industry over the years.

At Avdoo, we’re drawn to architects who understand that craft is what makes a building endure. With Brooklyn-based architect Brent Buck, we share a belief in the discipline of good design and a deep curiosity about how materials age, weather, and earn their character over time.

That philosophy shaped Boerum Place, where a red brick facade recalls Cobble Hill’s historic brownstones, and the full-block condominium balances presence with intimacy, preserving the neighborhood’s human scale. Brent honored the historic character of one of Brooklyn’s most storied neighborhoods while setting a new standard for contemporary living within it.

Named to Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard in 2026, his practice reminds us why we build with the architects we do. Because in Brooklyn, the best buildings don’t just occupy their block. They belong to it.

At the top floors of Boerum Place, five-bedroom penthouses open to the neighborhood through rows of oversized windows, some rooms with as many as four exposures, while arched entries echo the doorways of the brownstones and carriage houses below.

Sun-soaked kitchens are finished in honed marble, white oak cabinetry, and vintage-brass hardware, and primary baths pair dramatically veined Arabescato marble with freestanding soaking tubs.

A sculptural spiral staircase connects the interiors to expansive private terraces framed by layered plantings.
