Another chapter in the real estate commission story.
You may have heard about the Sitzer-Burnett case and the NAR settlement that followed. The landmark litigation brought on behalf of home sellers that helped reshape how real estate commissions are negotiated and disclosed.

This is different.
A separate $120.3 million settlement has been reached in litigation involving claims brought on behalf of homebuyers. If you purchased a home listed on an MLS during the applicable class period and paid a brokerage commission, you may be eligible to receive a portion of the settlement.

For California buyers, the applicable period for claims against the NAR group of defendants generally runs from January 25, 2017 through June 25, 2026. And importantly, simply selling a home does not make you eligible for this settlement; separate settlements address certain home-seller claims.

The deadline to file a claim is October 27, 2026.

With our team spread out across California, it is always so special when we can gather all together, especially with so many team members welcoming new littles ones to their families this year!

This year’s team retreat focused on community stewardship and the importance of connecting with the people and communities within the neighborhoods we live in and love.

Purchased with Willowmar in 2021, this home has held so many memories over the years. With our clients moving to Mexico City, it was time to guide the home to it next chapter.

This 3br 2ba Miraloma Park residence not only showcased beautiful views, but it was also thoughtfully updated throughout our sellers’ ownership. Modern improvements included high-end appliances in the kitchen, a new irrigation system in the backyard, and other mechanical and electrical equipment that supported everyday functionality.

When it came to prepping the home, what it only truly needed were replacements on the carpet flooring, a fresh coat of paint for the interior, some sprucing up on the landscaping, and new light fixtures to showcase the home in its best light. Anchored with the right staging, the smallest of details made a big difference, with around 30 parties attending per open house weekend–and some of them being on their 2nd showing!

The outcome: a sale of $905k over list price and a seamless transition to buyers who will now live closer to family.
