🍩 THE ULTIMATE 15-MINUTE HACK FOR NATIONAL DONUT DAY! 🍩
Did you know National Donut Day is today? 🥳
You can make fresh, warm, pillowy donuts at home without dealing with yeast, dough hooks, or waiting hours for a rise.
Say hello to the Canned Biscuit Donut Hack. 🤫
When fried, the layers in refrigerated biscuit dough puff up perfectly, creating a crispy exterior and a flaky, melt-in-your-mouth center. Plus, you get homemade donut holes out of the deal!
Ingredients:
- 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuits (like Pillsbury Grands)
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Cinnamon Sugar Coating: 1/2 cup sugar + 1 tbsp cinnamon OR Classic Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar + 2 tbsp milk + 1 tsp vanilla.
Directions:
1. PUNCH: Separate the biscuits. Use a clean bottle cap or apple corer to punch a hole right out of the center of each one (save the centers for donut holes!).
2. FRY: Heat 1–2 inches of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the donuts for about 1–2 minutes per side until beautifully golden brown. (They cook fast!).
3. COAT: Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on a paper towel for 10 seconds, and immediately toss in your cinnamon sugar or dip in the glaze while they’re hot so it sticks perfectly.
4. Toss the mini center pieces in the oil at the end for 30 seconds to make the perfect bite-sized donut holes! 😍
Enjoy!!
