As part of the Brechin Hill Community Association, I’ve been working closely with the City of Nanaimo and the Ministry of Transportation to advocate for improved safety in our neighbourhood and we’ve seen meaningful progress today. Our long awaited meeting with the city and the ministry was a success.
A signalled crosswalk at Stewart Ave & Larch St. has now been approved, the ministry has committed to installation this July. This has been a key priority for our community association, and it’s great to see it moving forward.
We also made some additional requests
✔️ Additional southbound safety signals leading up to the crosswalk on Stewart are being considered
✔️ The damaged railing at the bottom of Larch across Stewart is under review for replacement
✔️ The ministry has also committed to repainting crosswalks along Brechin Rd
✔️ Ongoing discussions around a future signalled crossing on Brechin Rd
Being involved at the community level matters and I’m proud to be part of Brechin Hill Community Association helping move these initiatives forward.
As both a local resident and a real estate professional in the community, I care deeply about the long-term growth and livability of this neighbourhood.

This is what community looks like 🙌

We had a great meet-up at the park with the City of Nanaimo to talk about the new playground project for Barney Moriez Park, it’s amazing seeing neighbours come together to make something meaningful happen. The city has committed to seeing this project through by the end of the yr.
