Let’s settle the debate plastic edging or brick edging 👀

Here’s why we always suggest brick paver edging instead:

Better curb appeal. Longer lasting. Higher resale value. And it actually ties into the rest of your yard instead of fighting it.

That black plastic strip might save a few dollars upfront… but it’s not doing your property any favours down the road.

The details are what separate a good landscape from a great one 🙌

This is what $24,000 landscaping looks like in Winnipeg 👀

The foundation of any front yard starts with the walkway, and this one sets the tone immediately. Desert buff pavers with an antique inline border. Wide enough to park a car on.

From there, we ran a brick paver border all the way around the house tying the walkway and the landscape beds together seamlessly.

Brick edging over plastic edging any day of the week 😎

The planting mix was built around a sun and shade split, hydrangea, hosta, English lavender, a weeping featured tree, Karl Foerster grasses for height and texture, spirea, and creeping plants tucked into the boulders that’ll spread over time and look like they were always there. 🌿

Front yards don’t get enough credit. This one earns it.

Sometimes the most beautiful backyard isn’t the right backyard 👀

This family in Southdale had an existing landscape that looked great but it wasn’t working for their life. No space for the kids to kick a soccer ball. No room to just be outside together.
So we started over.

We stripped everything back to a blank slate and rebuilt it around what this family actually needed. Open lawn for the kids to run. A stunning patio using Barkman Fjord pavers in glacier clean, modern, and built to entertain. Plus a beautiful staircase leading up to the veranda that wraps the front of the home. 🙌

Beautiful and functional. That’s the goal every single time.

This Windsor Park backyard is about to make some neighbours very jealous 😎

The pool deck was cracking, lifting, and parging in spots, it needed a full reset. We brought in Prairie Rubber Paving to lay down a brand new rubberized pool deck and gave this space an entirely new life.

From there we got to work on the rest.

We built a retaining wall to smooth out the elevation change between the old deck and the new patio, then laid down over 500 square feet of Belgard Dimensions pavers in Scandina Gray with a full charcoal accent band running the perimeter for that clean modern edge 🙌

The family added their own gazebo and privacy fence to finish it off, and the result is exactly what a Winnipeg backyard should feel like in the summer.
