Christmas could look a little different for my father-in-law. 🎄🏡

A new home. A new state. And a dream he once questioned becoming real.

He’s relocating from California to Idaho, and after wondering if homeownership would ever be possible again, he’s now watching his own home being built. Being both his son-in-law and his REALTOR® makes this journey especially rewarding.

In this video, I’m taking you through our drywall inspection—another milestone on the way to getting his keys! Big shout-out to Corbin and the KB Home staff for the care, quality, and efficiency they’ve brought to the process.

With closing expected by the end of November, he could be settled in before Christmas, just under six months after putting down his initial deposit. His excitement says it all. ❤️

For Shannon’s birthday weekend, we traded our normal routine for the mountains and explored Stanley, Redfish Lake, Sun Valley, and Ketchum with our friends Josh and Jamie.

From hot springs and alpine lake views to riding up Bald Mountain and having lunch at the Roundhouse, the entire weekend felt like a reminder that some of Idaho’s most incredible experiences are right in our backyard.

Happy birthday to my beautiful wife, Shannon—and thank you, Josh and Jamie, for coming out to visit and sharing the adventure with us!

I recently traveled to California to inspect these former military-use units in person, and the potential is hard to ignore.

Each unit is approximately 14' × 63', with sleeping quarters and bathrooms at both ends. Because of the mirrored layout, one unit may potentially be divided into two approximately 14' × 31.5' studios.

Think:

🏠 Student or workforce housing
🌾 Ranch or agricultural housing
🏔️ Hunting cabins or remote-site housing
🔑 Rentals, ADUs or tiny-home communities
🏗️ Larger multi-unit projects

These Idaho summer evenings never get old.

Around 8:30 PM, after wrapping up work, I walked out the back door, made a few casts in the Boise River, and landed my biggest Idaho rainbow trout to date—a beautiful 21-inch fish. 🎣

One of my favorite things about Idaho summers is how much daylight we get. Even after a full day of work, there’s still plenty of time to get outside, enjoy the river, and make memories like this.

It’s easy to talk about mountain views and outdoor recreation, but moments like these tell the story better than I ever could.

Life isn’t just about where you live—it’s about what your everyday can look like.

Birthdays don’t mean as much to me as they used to.

What means everything is having people in your life who are willing to spend a weekend on the river just because they know that’s where you’re happiest.

Last Friday was one of those days I’ll remember for a long time. Fly fishing the Owyhee, camping, seeing wildlife everywhere, laughing until our sides hurt, and making memories with some incredible friends.

It reminded me that success isn’t measured by how busy you are or how many deals you close. It’s measured by the people sitting around your campfire.

That’s one of the reasons I love what I do. Helping people relocate has never been just about buying or selling a home. It’s about helping people find a place where weekends like this become normal.

I’m thankful for another year, thankful for this crew, and thankful that Idaho has become home.
